High-Output Cinema Bass Without the Premium Price
The REL HT/1205 MKII is built to answer a simple challenge: an affordable, exceptionally dynamic, pure home theatre powered subwoofer. It pairs a lightweight 12 inch (300mm) CarbonGlas driver with a 500W Class D amplifier that runs cool, and REL set out to make it the loudest relatively compact 12 inch unit available for pure home theatre use. Inside, specially adapted home theatre input filters keep bass extremely flat down in the 20s. The amplifier uses MOSFET power modules rated at 800 watts, so it simply cruises at its 500-watt rating, and an all-analogue subsonic filter starting as low as 8Hz protects the driver from infrasonic noise in soundtracks. REL’s engineering also makes it sound surprisingly good with music. It’s the natural choice when your heart says “more output” and the room can take it.
