Dolby Atmos Without the Custom Installation
The KEF R8 Meta can serve as a surround or rear speaker using its integrated wall mount feature, or sit on top of another speaker as a Dolby Atmos height speaker, bouncing sound off the ceiling to bring Atmos into the room with no custom installation. It uses a 12th generation Uni-Q driver array with Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT) to steer the sound for genuinely three-dimensional results, and it draws on a suite of technologies developed for KEF’s flagship Reference range. MAT absorbs 99% of unwanted sound for a pure, natural presentation, while the hybrid aluminium bass drivers with greater excursion keep low frequencies tight and controlled. Dedicated microfibre grilles, with 1801 precision-cut holes for each driver, keep performance consistent even when the drivers are covered.
