"Thank you Expressive Audio. I was looking for technical help for a 1977 Marantz Amp worth around £70 on E-bay, and was almost ignored elsewhere. Not with John though, he explained the sentimental connection and though I was unwilling to pay the earth for repair due to the low value he suggested a plan. I left the amp at his Spilsby showroom and told him I would ring back in a couple of weeks.Ten days or so later John contacted me and asked me to call in when passing as my pride and joy was back in store. Clean amp, great price, and a friendly welcome. It now works great again, service unheard of nowadays. I am 84 this month and this family item will be providing the music for my family bash. "I have been getting my HiFi advice from John Nelson for many years now, which is why I contacted him for advice about a TV system for our new house even though he has left Hampshire. My current HiFi system does not need replacing! As usual John's advice was excellent and the drop down screen/projector system works brilliantly. The installation was a bit tricky but undertaken by him and Steve very professionally with the minimum of disruption and little sign of where cables have had to be fitted in wall and ceiling spaces. "Planar 3 Turntable Purchase. Found Expressive Audio, Lincolnshire's newest hi-fi & av dealer, while searching for (relatively) local Rega stockists. After a quick phone call I arranged a visit which showed their store offered an interesting selection of products mainly from quality UK based suppliers. Discussions with the manager on turntable options and my requirements identified the Planar 3 as the likely best option & a demonstration was arranged for a later date. Following a leisurely audition purchase was arranged as my preferred colour option was out of stock. This was delivered within a week and the deck expertly set up with my own cartridge prior to collection. I cannot fault my purchasing experience: the manager was friendly, attentive, experienced & knowledgeable & purchase was smooth & efficient for a product I am entirely satisfied with." - John
"High End and Affordable Hifi from Experts I was pleased to be recommended to Expressive Audio (and to John Nelson) by my brother who had bought hifi from John when he was with AudioT in Southampton. Knowing what a good experience my brother had enjoyed I called, purely speculatively, to see what was on offer. There is a wide range of product to suit a wide range of tastes and budgets and I was delighted (as an owner of a Cyrus based system of separates) that John would be meeting Cyrus within days. Indeed, that lead to an order for a long overdue second X-Power which arrived today. John was good company and easy going and so, easy to buy from! Great to have a knowledgeable, upper end hifi dealer in Lincolnshire! 22.10.2021: Another satisfying visit to Expressive Audio. I feel I am beginning to put grooves in the road between home and Moorby since I turned 60 a couple of months ago. This says a great deal about the service received from John Nelson - and the products he can supply. We started with a second Cyrus X-Power and are now steadily upgrading the cables. This has been a revelation. So many reviews say that the aural difference afforded by good quality cables and interconnects is an illusion. I can say, hand on heart, that it isn't. The latest, Chord digital cable, has further defined the sound and soundstage. To convince me, John loaned me his demonstration cables and thus sold me the package. "I bought an audio technica lp5 from the guys at Expressive Audio. Seamless transaction but the item turned up faulty. This was nothing to do with Expressive Audio, the turntable had got damaged in transit. Typical couriers not handling with care. Stephen called to find out what had happened and offered to replace the turntable. Not only did he replace the turntable but replaced it with the latest model (lp5x), he also delivered it personally and set it up to make sure it got here in one piece. Absolutely outstanding customer service. Highly recommended for all audio needs." - Barry
