Compact Cinema Bass That Plays Twice as Loud as Before
The REL HT/1003 MKII packs massive power into a sleek, compact cabinet, playing twice as loud as the original, a full 10dB higher output. It’s built for smaller rooms or tighter budgets, pairing a 300W Class D amplifier with a 10 inch (250mm) CarbonGlas driver, and it adds the full suite of MKII upgrades: a higher secondary filter so explosions hit harder, an all-analogue PerfectFilter that lifts and extends the deepest bass, and an analogue subsonic filter that begins as low as 12Hz to remove signals that could damage the driver. Every component was beefed up, from larger magnets to an upgraded suspension with an enlarged surround for greater travel. The cabinet is clad in line-grained composite with a top panel finished in five coats of hand-polished piano black lacquer, and it can be combined with REL’s Serie T/x or Serie S in larger HT/3D setups. While home theatre is its main job, REL’s engineering also makes it a seriously musical sub.
